Dear Student,
We would like to invite you to participate in the research project:
Staff and Students Perspectives on using Mobile Devices in Teaching and Learning
The main aim of the project is to develop an informed understanding of how educator's decisions impact on the type of mobile devices used for teaching and learning as well as the ways in which these devices might be utilised for teaching and learning activities inside and outside the classroom.
The objectives are to:
- Develop an understanding of how lecturers use/don’t use mobile learning technologies in their teaching and learning.
- Develop an understanding of how students prefer to have mobile technologies support their learning.
- Make suggestions and recommendations to shape university-wide policy development in relation to a Bring-Your-Own-Devices (BYOD) scheme.
You will be asked to complete this survey on your perceptions of the use of mobile technologies for teaching and learning.
All data collected will be treated with the strictest confidentiality. Your participation in this project is entirely voluntary and any data related to you will only be included with your consent.
Ethical clearance for this study has been obtained from Behavioural & Social Sciences Ethical Review Committee of The University of Queensland (Project Reference #2013001622).
